What’s the difference between inpatient and outpatient care?

Inpatient care involves staying at our facility for intensive treatment and monitoring. Outpatient care allows patients to receive psychiatric care while continuing their daily routines.

Appointments & Referrals

Do I need a referral to book an appointment?

Not necessarily. While referrals from primary care providers are encouraged, you can also contact us directly to schedule a consultation.

How do I schedule an appointment?

What should I expect during my first visit?

Your first visit will include a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation where we’ll discuss your concerns, medical history, and goals to create a personalised treatment plan.

Treatment & Medication

Do you offer therapy as well as medication management?

Yes. Our services include psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and various forms of psychiatrist-driven therapy including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT).

Will I be prescribed medication right away?

Not always. Medication decisions are made collaboratively between you and your psychiatrist after a thorough assessment.

Do you offer virtual consultations?

Yes, we offer virtual consultations, designed to provide secure, convenient access to psychiatric care from the comfort of your home.

Medical aids & Payment

Do you accept medical aid?

Yes. Mindset Psychiatry is registered with most major medical aid schemes in South Africa.

What if my medical aid doesn’t cover everything?

We offer competitive rates but due to the variation in medical aid payments, co-payments may occasionally apply.

Can I pay cash instead of using medical aid?

Absolutely. We accept cash payments, EFTs and offer transparent pricing for all services. Please contact us for our rates.
